One of the four founding partners of Kusto, Daulet, 43, has been working with Yerkin Tatishev since 1997. Today he is chief executive of Kusto Agro and is also responsible for finding and overseeing new group projects from his base in Ukraine, leveraging his experience in trading and marketing.
From 1994 to 1998, Daulet sold goods wholesale and then worked as a financial instruments trader in Kazakhstan.
Daulet was closely involved in establishing Kusto Agro and has been its chief executive since 2011. He was instrumental in setting up the Kusto Agriculture School, which offers post graduate diplomas in agronomy, agricultural chemistry, finance, management, safety and communications. It saw its first students graduate in 2015. He has also held key roles in the real estate division and serves on both the Kusto Real Estate and the Kusto Vietnam boards.
Daulet sees his role primarily as one of creating value for the Group and nurturing and developing those around him.
He is a graduate from Almaty Technology Institute where he studied international economic relations. He also holds an MBA in strategic management from the Academy of National Economy, Moscow, and is a certified project manager. He speaks Russian and Kazakh, plays golf and enjoys writing books.
